Snow expected in Sangre de Cristos, northeastern N.M.

Just minutes ago, the National Weather Service issued a snow advisory for the northwest mountains and the Sangre de Cristos, including the cities of Chama, Los Alamos, Red River, Taos and Santa Fe, to be in effect from 11 a.m. today to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are possible by Saturday morning, the weather bureau reported.

Also in effect until 5 p.m. today is a winter weather advisory for the northeast highlands, Harding County and the far northeastern plains, with moderate snow, patchy fog and below-freezing weather and snow accumulations of around an inch, the Weather Service reported.

Check here for an up-to-date map of weather conditions and forecasts from the NWS.

And here is a look at upcoming weather from The Associated Press.
