Police have caught the man they believe to be the arroyo molester.

Investigators say the arrest is in connection with a series of child molestations that have occurred since 2003 near Albuquerque arroyos in the Northeast Heights, police told the Journal this morning.

Wednesday night, police got a DNA hit from a national database linking the attacks to a Gallup man. Investigators will hold a news conference this afternoon to provide more details.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, will be transported to Albuquerque sometime today.

A man had approached children on four Wednesdays: once in August 2003, and three times in 2005. At least one boy was molested in all but one of those cases.
