The Rail Runner Express station in Los Ranchos was closed for about 2 1/2 hours Friday after a suspicious device was found in the drop-off area plugged into an outlet.

Bernalillo County Sheriff's Lt. Duncan Sanchez said the device consisted of two white cylinders attached to a base with protruding wires. The Albuquerque police bomb squad used a robot to disable the device.

Sanchez said the squad told him they had recently seen at least one similar device.
Trains scheduled to stop at the Los Ranchos station were rerouted to the Downtown station.

Passengers who missed their train because of the closure were shuttled to their destinations.
Authorities declined to say what the device was.
