Shots were heard around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Valley home of a man on the 2000 block of Nancy SW, and when a neighbor went to investigate he discovered a dead body, KOB-TV is reporting on its Web site.

KOAT-TV is reporting that the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office has been on scene interviewing neighbors and trying to piece together what happened in the fatal shooting.

The victim's identity has not been released, and no arrests have been made, KOAT-TV reported on its Web site, TheNewMexicoChannel.com.

"We are treating this as a homicide scene, as an obvious homicide scene," Lt. Gregg Marcantel told KOAT.
