Police search puts La Cueva High on lockdown.

8:30am UPDATE: KOAT-TV is reporting that police have narrowed their yard-to-yard search to the area along Alameda NE between Louisiana and Wyoming. One suspect may be on foot and another may have fled in a stolen a gray 2001 Chevy Tahoe with Texas license plates, KOAT is reporting.

7:55am UPDATE: Alameda Boulevard has just reopend, and police are moving their search for two suspects who may have committed three burglaries overnight by using garage door openers to enter homes while the residents were sleeping, said APD spokeswoman Trish Hoffman. The high school is on a two-hour delay, but for those who arrived on campus early, the school is on lockdown -- meaning no one can enter or leave.

6:30am UPDATE: La Cueva High School will be on a two-hour delay because of a police search in the area for a burglary suspect who reportedly broke into a home while the residents were sleeping, KOAT-TV is reporting. Teachers and students, who have already arrived at school, were placed on lockdown, say teachers on the scene.

Albuquerque police have shut down Alameda Boulevard between San Pedro and Wyoming as they conduct a yard-to-yard search for a burglary suspect, according to Albuquerque Police Department dispatch.

The road was closed just before 6 a.m., and early-morning commuter traffic is being delayed.

Police canine units are about to be deployed, and residents of the area are being urged to stay inside their homes.
