Dip in lake not for the faint of heart

The annual Polar Bear Plunge will take place at Storrie Lake State Park near Las Vegas, N.M. on New Year's day.

From the NM Tourism site: "Participants take a refreshing plunge into the frigid waters of Storrie Lake State Park to kick off the New Year."

Storrie Lake State Park is located four miles north of Las Vegas, New Mexico, and can be reached via New Mexico Highway 518.

Tuesday, January 1st 2008 -- 9 a.m. to noon

Cost: Regular Entrance Fee

Location & Directions: Boat Ramp launching area, North end of the park
