Police nab suspect in overnight incidents on W. Central.

Eric Herrera, 21, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. today near the corner of Atrisco and Central after the stolen red Cadillac he was in got in the wrong lane and slammed into another car, Albuquerque Police Department spokeswoman Trish Hoffman told ABQjournal.com. No one was seriously injured, she said.

The Cadillac was allegedly the second carjacked vehicle of the night for Herrera and an unnamed second suspect, Hoffman said.

Police were first notified around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday that a green Ford Explorer had been carjacked, and that car was later dumped and the suspects -- who were driving a white Nissan -- stole the Cadillac, Hoffman said.

The Explorer was recovered around Central and 98th Street, Hoffman said.

Police have some "good leads" on the second suspect, who also is a Hispanic male, Hoffman said.

Herrera was being held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond and is facing two counts of robbery, one count of conspiracy and one count of tampering with evidence.

Hoffman said Herrera had in his possession a 9mm handgun, which was recovered.
