East Mountains schools on a two-hour delay this morning.

That intense quick-hitting storm that swept over western New Mexico and Albuquerque on Wednesday has moved on east, still dropping some snow and kicking up high winds before moving on to Texas.

But for Albuquerque, the "east" begins at the Sandias and the Manzanos, and sure enough, Albuquerque Public Schools has put its East Mountains schools, including Manzano High School, on a two-hour delay this morning. The delay also includes East Mountain High School.

For a complete list of delays and closings around the state, check out KOAT-TV's Web site.

It's still wintry cold where we are -- just 20 degrees right now (with the all-important wind chill at 8 degrees above) -- going up to a well-below-average high of 36, according to the National Weather Service.

It was 9 below at Angel Fire early this morning, just 3 above in Gallup and 5 in Taos, according to KOAT's Jason Stiff.

We're still keeping a weather eye out for the next big winter storm brewing off the Aleutian Islands and the Alaskan peninsula that's expected to hit the Four Corners area by late Sunday and perhaps bring some rain and snow our way Sunday and Monday, according to the latest special weather statement.

But in the meantime, look for a bit of a warmup to the high 40s under mostly sunny skies on Friday and Saturday, even touching a high of 50 on Sunday, but with a slight chance of raindrops falling on our heads.
