Fugitive from Sierra County was living near a Las Cruces elementary school.
Adrian Thomas Rea, 22, who was wanted in Sierra County for failing to register as a sex offender, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home near a Las Cruces elementary school, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported. Rea was arrested without incident by a U.S. Marshal task force at a residence directly across the street from Conlee Elementary School, the Sun-News reported. Rea has served time in Arizona for second-degree criminal sexual contact of a minor and for attempted sexual abuse of a 10-year-old child, according to the Sun-News. The task force, which includes officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Las Cruces Police Department and the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, received a tip about Rea and made the arrest, the paper reported.
