Light at the end of Little Big I reconstruction.

In just a few minutes, there'll be one less headache for West Side commuters as part of a new flyover at the intersection of Coors and Interstate 40 -- the "Little Big I" or second-most heavily traveled intersection in New Mexico, after the Big Big I -- is open for business.

The 1,000-foot-long flyover from Coors to eastbound I-40 will be open to one lane of traffic, with a second lane to open in June when the whole $91 million reconstruction project is scheduled for completion, according to a story in this morning's Albuquerque Journal.

Remember to keep to the speed limit on those soaring flyovers -- and to keep those high winds in mind when they start to kick up this morning.

Also opening today are Ouray underneath the new Coors overpass and the on-ramp from Ouray to I-40 in both directions, the Journal reported.
