Bands scheduled to play at venues damaged in Downtown fire find other spots.

The devastating Thursday morning fire at 7th and Central SW that destroyed Puccini's Golden West Saloon and damaged El Rey Theater and the Launchpad appears to have disrupted the Downtown Albuquerque music scene as well, according to this morning's Albuquerque Journal.

The Journal's David Steinberg tells us that two bands that were to have performed tonight at what used to be Puccini's will play at a different Downtown venue.

The Section Quartet, a rock band with the instrumentation of a classical string quartet, and the everybodyfields, an alt-country band, will share the stage at One Up, formerly the Carom Club, at 301 Central NW. Admission is $15.

The Section Quartet will play at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., and the everybodyfields will play in between sets at 8 p.m., Steinberg tells us.

Meanwhile, veteran rock-jazz organist Brian Auger and his band, Oblivion Express, were to have played at Puccini's the night of Saturday, March 2, but have rescheduled to April 19 at El Rey Theater, right next door.
