Passenger, a 7-year-old girl, hospitalized after Monday morning crash.

Sergia Lobato, 49, of Blanco, died at the scene of a Monday morning rollover crash on N.M. 511 north of the intersection with U.S. 64, New Mexico State Police told the Farmington Daily Times.

Lobato, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially thrown from her 2001 silver Ford Escort around 7:45 a.m. when she veered off the right shoulder of the road and rolled over once, partially rolled again, and the car came to rest on its roof, the Daily Times reported.

She was pronounced dead at 9:12 a.m., police said.

A 7-year-old girl who was a passenger riding in the right rear of the car was not ejected, and the girl -- who was not named but believed to be Lobato's granddaughter -- suffered neck and back injuries in the crash and was reported in good condition at San Juan Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon, the Daily Times said.

Police don't know why the car left the road, and neither alcohol nor excessive speed appear to have been factors in the crash, State Police Sgt. Robert Grona, told the Daily Times.
