Authorities say the deputy who crashed his bike is expected to recover.

A Bernalillo County sheriff's motorcycle deputy wrecked his bike within the past 20 minutes at Rio Grande and Indian School NW, Albuquerque police officials have confirmed.

The deputy, whose name hasn't been released, suffered mostly broken bones, police told the Albuquerque Journal.

According to police radio traffic, the deputy was conscious when emergency crews arrived and his left ribs were broken.
