Dona Ana County sheriff's investigators look into late-night blaze.

Dona Ana County sheriff's and fire marshal's investigators, along with volunteers from La Mesa, Mesquite and South Valley fire departments were called to a fire at the River Valley Dairy in Vado around 11:15 p.m. Monday, the Las Cruces Sun-News reported.

Investigators said a security guard spotted flames coming from a storage shed for hay and when he approached the shed the hay was fully engulfed, the Sun-News said.

The dairy owner said the fire did approximately $78,000 worth of damage to the hay and another $25,000 damage to the shed, the Sun-News reported.

The fire is being investigated as suspicious because of evidence discovered at the scene, sheriff's investigator Bo Nevarez told the Sun-News.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nevarez at (575) 525-1911.
