How much money did ABQ's Kristina Caffrey win on "Jeopardy!"?

Kristina Caffrey, a 21-year-old Albuquerque native and a senior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, didn't win on her fourth straight night on the popular CBS game show "Jeopardy!" but went home some $60,000 richer.

We didn't actually see the show that aired locally on KRQE-TV, Channel 13, but we were told how it all came out by Rick Nathanson, who did a profile on Caffrey in last Saturday's Albuquerque Journal.

You see, her turn was taped way back in November but wasn't aired until this week, according to Nathanson's story.

"I like to win and the prospect of competing on TV was really cool," Caffrey told Nathanson recently.

But when asked how she did, she told Nathanson, "You're just going to have to watch."

"I'm sworn to secrecy," Caffrey said. "It was pretty relaxed. They didn't make you sign a confidentiality agreement or anything like that, but they asked us not to tell how it turned out or it would spoil the fun."

And though she didn't repeat as champion, she ended up with around $60,000.

Asked by News 13 what she planned to do with her winnings, Caffrey said, "I don't know -- maybe I'll just save it for a rainy day. Just, you know, maybe a permanent travel fund or something."
