Students at APS and Rio Rancho get an extra day for Spring Break this year as they take Friday off as the "Vernal Holiday." Rumor has it that Good Friday has been written in the school calendar as the Vernal Holiday as a result of bargaining by the custodian's union.

Other closures today include Bernalillo County offices and community centers and Sen. Pete Domenici's office.

Noon closures include Sen. Jeff Bingaman's office, Rep. Tom Udall's office and metro courts.

If you're looking for someplace to take the kids today, the zoo, Bio Park, Rio Grande Nature Center and museums are all open.
