19-year-old suspects arrested Thursday in Flagstaff driving stolen car.

Daniel Penrod and Brittany Brylowe, both 19, were arrested Thursday in Flagstaff, Ariz., driving a stolen car, both suspects in the death of George Burns, whose body was found in his Meadow Lake home last Monday night, KRQE News 13 reported.

Brylowe, who was released in Flagstaff before authorities realized she was wanted in connection with Burns' death, turned herself in to Valencia County sheriff's deputies on Friday night, while Penrod remains in custody in Arizona on a $200,000 bond, News 13 reported.

Brylowe was accompanied by her parents when she surrendered, KRQE reported.  She is being held on a $200,000 cash-only bond at the Valencia County Detention Center.

An autopsy showed that Burns, a 58-year-old disabled Vietnam veteran, died as a result of blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds, the Valencia County News-Bulletin reported over the weekend.

Tim Martin, the neighbor who found Burns' body after noticing the back door to Burns' home open and the television on, told KRQE that the teen-age couple had been living with him for about a week.

"I'm really shocked. I mean I kind of had my suspicions, but I'm really shocked, said Martin, who told News 13 that he had met Penrod in Albuquerque a while back.

Mary Soderstadt, who lives with Martin, also told KRQE that Penrod and Brylowe had been spending a lot of time with Burns, and that she became suspicious when the two teens disappeared suddenly on the Saturday before Burns' body was found.

10:50am 3/26/08 -- Meadow Lake Man ID'd: Valencia County authorities leaning toward homicide in Vietnam vet's death.

Valencia County investigators are still awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death of a Meadow Lake man who was found dead at his home on Monday, the Valencia County News-Bulletin reported.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old George Burns, a disabled Vietnam War veteran, the News-Bulletin said.

"At this point we're treating this as a suspicious death, and the outcome may be a possible homicide," Valencia County Sheriff Rene Rivera told the News-Bulletin. "We're reasonably certain that it's a homicide because of the amount of blood found."

Sheriff's detective Lt. James Purdy told the paper he suspects Burns may have died of blunt force trauma or stab wounds.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Purdy at the Valencia County Sheriff's Department at (505) 866-2400.

12:50pm 3/25/8 -- Suspicious Death Probed in Meadow Lake: Man in his 50s found at his mobile home Monday night by a neighbor.

Valencia County authorities are investigating what they say is a suspicious death Monday night at a mobile home in Meadow Lake, KOAT-TV reported.

A man in his 50s, whose name hasn't been released, was confirmed dead with blood on the upper part of his body when deputies arrived at the home around 7 p.m. Monday, according to KOB-TV.

A neighbor noticed that the back door of the mobile home had been open for some time and when he went to investigate he found the man's apparently lifeless body, Eyewitness News 4 reported.

"My understanding, at this time, is there is no weapon," Valencia County sheriff's Deputy Ed Chavez told KOB-TV. "We don't have any suspect ... We're treating it as a suspicious death until we can get some other facts."

A search warrant was executed at the scene earlier today and some evidence was collected, according to KOAT-TV.

The state Office of the Medical Investigator is conducting an autopsy to determine a cause of death, Action 7 News reported.
