State will help qualified individuals prepare and electronically file 2007 returns.

The New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department is joining with Tax Help New Mexico to prepare and electronically file returns for the tax year 2007 now through April 30, according to a Taxation & Revenue news release.

Tax Help will prepare federal/state returns for individuals with a combined income below $40,000, and the state agency will prepare and electronically file state returns for those with a combined income of $22,000 or less, the release said.

Taxation & Revenue offices in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Roswell are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 30 for help with state tax returns, and walk-in assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-service basis or by appointment by calling your local district office, the release said.
