Pickup truck slams into medical clinic, killing 3, injuring 8.

A pickup truck traveling at "a fairly high rate of speed" smashed through a plate-glass window at a Santa Fe medical clinic this morning, traveling as much as 30 feet into the building, killing three people and injuring eight others, The Associated Press is now reporting.

The Concentra Medical Centers is a workers' compensation clinic where work-related injuries are examined and treated, the AP reported. Some patients were in the clinic's waiting room when the crash occurred but it wasn't known how many or whether they were among the injured, according to the AP report.

The seven injured people were taken to nearby St. Vincent Regional Medical Center where they were listed in satisfactory condition. An eighth person was treated and released, a hospital spokesman told the AP.

A woman driving a GMC pickup crashed into the Concentra Medical Services building on St. Michael's Driver in Santa Fe around 9:50 a.m. today, according to broadcast news reports on KOB-TV.

Seven people were taken to a nearby hospital, including three staff members at the medical building, KOB-TV is reporting.

There is no word yet on the condition of the injured.

Witnesses said the pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed, the station reported.
