Sunny day with a high at or just above normal; expect 20-25 mph winds.

The National Weather Service says we can expect a sunny, warmish day with a high around 70 (normal high for this date is 66), but it's going to be breezy in the Albuquerque metro area with 5 to 10 mph west winds increasing to 20-25 mph, gusting to 30 mph.

Elsewhere, there's a wind advisory in effect until 6 p.m. for Raton, Taos, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Raton and just east of the central mountains, including Moriarty and Estancia, with west to southwest winds averaging 25-35 mph throughout the day, according to the weather service.

Moving on to the east, the wind advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Santa Rosa, Tucumcari, Fort Sumner, Portales and Clovis, with sustained 25-35 mph winds, gusting all the way up to 50 mph.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the wind advisory area, where sudden gusts can cause you to lost control and blowing dust can play havoc with visibility.

Tomorrow, we're looking at another sunny, slightly warmer day (72 the forecast high), but the winds will keep whipping up through Wednesday in our area -- turning southerly between 15 and 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph on Tuesday, the on Wednesday an east wind of 5 to 10 mph becoming west between 20 and 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph.

So hold on to whatever headgear you're wearing.
