40-year-old Elephant Butte man had been missing since boat capsized on March 15.

The body of 40-year-old Gary Casper of Elephant Butte was recovered Tuesday afternoon from Elephant Butte Lake, more than two weeks after his boat capsized in the lake, according to a New Mexico State Parks Division news release.

State Parks officers recovered the body after it was spotted by visitors around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the release said.

Two other people were aboard the boat when it capsized on March 15.

Alejandra Delgado, 16, of El Paso, survived the incident when she was rescued after about three hours in the water, but 82-year-old Nolan F. Carter, also of El Paso, drowned in the incident and his body was recovered the same day, according to the release.
