Aztec man pleads not guilty to having sex with girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter.

Former Aztec resident David Padilla, 23, pleaded not guilty in state District Court Monday to having his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter perform sex on him -- while the mother, 39-year-old Lisa Stevens, watched, the Farmington Daily Times reported.

Padilla is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual penetration of a minor, two counts of second-degree distribution of methamphetamine to a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the Daily Times said.

If convicted on all counts, Padilla could face more than 50 years in prison, the paper reported.

The girl's mother is charged with child abuse and with being an accessory to the child-sex counts, the Daily Times said.

"It's ugly all the way around," said prosecutor David Ottman. "These were two very culpable adults."

According to the Daily Times, the teenage girl was in custody at the county juvenile detention facility on another matter when she told a probation officer of her mother's alleged role in repeated sex acts that she said took place last November.

The incidents allegedly occurred when the three were doing methamphetamine together, according to court documents.
