Ryan Griffin, 27, facing multiple charges in ABQ, could be wanted in Colorado.

A man arrested earlier this month in connection with a string of auto burglaries in Taos since Easter Sunday, is facing trial in Albuquerque on at least six cases, including multiple charges of receiving stolen property, The Taos News reported.

A search of 27-year-old Ryan Griffin's car when he was arrested on April 2 turned up evidence of an active history of past trouble with the law in Albuquerque and some possible future trouble in Colorado, according to the News.

"From the looks of it, he must have already known he was in trouble, but it didn't slow him down," Taos Police detective Barry Holfelder told the News. "We found his backpack in the car. It had two target notices for cases that were going to a grand jury in Albuquerque."

Court records show that in just one of the Albuquerque cases against Griffin, he faces three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, 38 counts of receiving stolen property and one count of conspiracy to receive stolen property, the News reported.

In Taos, Griffin is facing new charges of auto burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card, fraudulent signing of a credit card slip, possession of a stolen credit card and is accused of burglarizing an unknown number of cars in Taos since Easter Sunday, according to the News.

Holfelder also said a search of Griffin's car turned up several handbags, apparel and other items that appeared to belong to some Colorado residents, the paper said.

Among the items were a backpack belonging to a student at the Metropolitan State College in Denver and an attache case belonging to a Littleton, Colo., Realtor, both of whom told Taos police the items were stolen on March 29, the News reported.

"We are still going through stuff," Holfelder told the paper. "But that's where we are, and I am still waiting to hear from other area law enforcement agencies about burglary reports."
