Back to normal at NE Heights high school; SWAT situation continues.

Del Norte High School, which was put on lockdown early this morning because of a nearby SWAT situation at Hendrix and San Pedro NE, is now back to business as usual, APS spokeswoman Lauren Morrison said a few minutes ago.
Gov. Bent Elementary School, where Albuquerque police  continue to search for a suspected armed robber, remains on a two-hour delay, with classes starting at 10:50 a.m., Morrison said.

7:40am -- Gov. Bent on 2-Hour Delay: Ongoing SWAT situation in NE Heights affects area schools.

Gov. Bent Elementary School at Hendrix and Madeira NE will be on a two-hour delay -- with classes starting at 10:50 a.m. rather than 8:50 a.m. -- while Albuquerque police continue scouring the neighborhood in their search for a robbery suspect who may be carrying an assault rifle. APS spokeswoman Lauren Morrison said nearby Del Norte High School is open, but the campus is on lockdown -- meaning students can't leave the building. School officials have asked that Del Norte students use the north entrance to the campus -- away from the SWAT situation still unfolding just south of Montgomery.

6:40am -- Heights School Lockdown: Ongoing SWAT situation will affect Del Norte High School. Zero Hour classes at Del Norte, scheduled to begin right about now, will go on as usual but students were asked to use the north entrance only. Once inside the school, students will be on lockdown, said Albuquerque Public Schools spokesman Rigo Chavez.
Meanwhile, Gov. Bent Elementary School -- which is right at ground zero of the ongoing SWAT situation at San Pedro and Hendrix NE -- is not scheduled to open until 8:50 a.m. If the SWAT situation is continuing at that time, Gov. Bent students will be diverted to other schools, Chavez said.
