35-year-old held on $1 million bond charged with murder, evidence tampering.

Evelyn Compo Warden, 35, is being held on a $1 million bond, charged with an open count of murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Julius Morro, a 44-year-old Lea County man, the Carlsbad Current-Argus reported.

Officers from the Hobbs Police Department and the Lea County Sheriff's Office responded early Thursday to a report of a possible shooting victim at a residence on the Eunice Highway, south of Hobbs, the Current-Argus said.

The man, later identified as Morro, was found dead at the scene, the paper reported.

The sheriff's office said the man's body was sent to the state Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque to determine the exact cause of death, the Current-Argus reported.
