Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 are back open after a multi-vehicle crash that involved a semitruck carrying explosives, Albuquerque police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby said. Westbound lanes are expected to open at about 5:10 p.m., she said. The crash occurred when a car traveling westbound on I-40 was struck by another vehicle, causing it to spin out. The semitruck carrying explosives was also going westbound when it collided with one of the cars. Police said the explosives did not detonate.
