You can check the status of your 2007 federal income tax refund online.
Thanks to those friendly folks at the Internal Revenue Service, you can check on the status of your 2007 federal income tax refund by clicking on "Where's My Refund?" It's fast, easy, safe and convenient, according to the IRS, which reports that nearly 9.7 million taxpayers already have checked on the status of 2007 refunds, up 18 percent from the same time last year. If you have filed electronically this year, you can check on your refund seven days after filing. If you filed a mailed-in paper return, you'll have to wait four to six weeks before checking on your refund, according to an IRS news release. For personalized refund information, be ready to enter your Social Security Number (or Taxpayer Identification Number); filing status (single, married filing joint return, married filing separate return, head of household or qualifying widow or widower); and the exact refund amount shown on your tax return. You can also find out whether the IRS was unable to deliver a refund and, if necessary, you can change your address online, according to an IRS news release. And this year for the first time, Spanish-speakers can get refund information using "¿Dónde Está mi Reembolso?" by going to www.irs.gov and clicking the Español link. Taxpayers without Internet access can call the IRS TeleTax System at 1-800-829-4477 or the IRS Refund Hotline at 1-800-8291954. TeleTax efund information is updated each weekend, and if you don't get a date for your refund this time around, call back next week.
