Fire weather watch will turn into a red flag warning this morning.

A warm start this morning (57 degrees) will turn even warmer in Albuquerque, with a high of 80 degrees, and breezy 5-10 mph west winds will kick up to 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

A fire weather watch is posted for much of New Mexico right now, but that's expected to become a red flag warning around 8 this morning, as the air warms up, the winds kick up and relative humidities drop once again into single digits.

A cool front will sweep across New Mexico from the northwest some time this evening, bringing marginally cooler temperatures and a little less wind on Friday, according to this morning's area forecast discussion
