Saledonio Lovato, 56, of Deming was pronounced dead at Mimbres Memorial Hospital shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday after the 1997 Geo in which he was a passenger was involved in a two-car crash on N.M. 418 (Lordsburg Road), the Deming Headlight reported.

The driver of the Geo, 56-year-old Victor Porras, and a passenger, 61-year-old Jesus Barcenas, also of Deming, were injured and airlifted to Thomason Hospital in El Paso, where their conditions weren't immediately available.

State Police said Porras was westbound on N.M. 418 just before 7 a.m. when he tried to make a left turn into a farm and Porras told police he didn't see an oncoming 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Justin Keeler, the Headlight reported.

Keeler was not injured, according to the paper.
