Area residents  waking up to cold temperatures

My thermometer here in the East Mountains shows a chilly 29 degrees this morning, reminding us of why we wait until Memorial Day to put plants outside.

The winds have been downgraded from "windy" 30 mph gusts to "breezy" 25 mph gusts today as the temperatures hover in the 60s. Here's the official forecast from the National Weather Service

Today: Sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to between 20 and 25 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 34. North wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to between 5 and 10 mph.
