Area shelters will be hosting "Pet Adopt-a-thons" this weekend, hoping to match pets with "forever homes."

 Lowe's near I-25 and Paseo Del Norte and PetSmart near Cottonwood Mall will be the locations. 

Hours will be noon to 6 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

 So, if the kids have been bugging you to get a dog or cat, here's a chance to make them happy...and save a life in the process.
