30-year-old Pinehill man, two companions attacked Tuesday while drinking.

Gallup police are looking for 19-year-old Bryland Skeets and 16-year-old Turak Newman in connection with a Tuesday attack on three men who were drinking in a ditch behind the Coronado Motel on Old Highway 66, the Gallup Independent reported.

One of the victims, 30-year-old Jesse James Pinto, died as he tried to flee from the ditch, and his two companions were treated and released from the Gallup Indian Medical Center, the Independent said.

Police said the two suspects allegedly approached the three men as they drank around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, asked for alcohol and assaulted the men when they said they had none to give, the paper reported.

Witnesses at the scene identified the attackers as Skeets and Newman, the paper said. 

Skeets is facing an open count of murder and Newman a charge of being an accessory to murder once they are arrested, the Independent said.

Anyone with information about Skeets or Newman is asked to call Gallup Crime Stoppers at (505) 722-6161, where a reward of $1,000 is being offered for informatin that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
