New Mexico superdelegate Laurie Weahkee says she plans to support Barack Obama's presidential bid.

Weahkee, who lives in Albuquerque but has Zuni, Navajo and Cochiti heritage, said Friday she believes Obama is the best candidate for Native American issues.

Her decision leaves Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., as New Mexico's only uncommitted superdelegate. In recent weeks, Sen. Jeff Bingaman and state Democratic Chairman Brian Colon joined Gov. Bill Richardson in endorsing Obama.

Obama, who on Tuesday won a big victory in the North Carolina primary and lost Indiana narrowly on Tuesday, has been steadily gaining delegates in the days since.

Lt. Gov. Diane Denish and Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez are among the New Mexico superdelegates who are supporting Clinton.
