Pedestrian struck around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Central and Pennsylvania SE.

Albuquerque police are looking for a vehicle that slammed into a pedestrian at Central and Pennsylvania SE around 11:30 p.m. and sent him to the hospital with severe head injuries, KOAT-TV reported.

The man was rushed to University of New Mexico Hospital where doctors managed to save his life, but he remained in serious condition this morning, Action 7 News reported.

Police shut down Central for more than an hour overnight searching for evidence, but were unable to find the vehicle, which was described only as a white sedan, KOAT-TV reported.

Officers said they have no better description of the car because the only witness to the crash was extremely intoxicated, according to KOAT-TV.

Anyone with information is asked to call 242-COPS.
