Los Alamos National Laboratory can now claim to have the fastest supercomputer in the world, due in large part to the PlayStation3.

The computer, dubbed Roadrunner, is comprised of 20,000 processors - 13,000 of them being IBM Cell processors, the brain of the PS3.
Roadrunner is capable of processing more than one thousand trillion calculations per second, twice as fast as its nearest competitor.
