Weekend weather great for watching hawks. While many among us seek out entertainment in performances this weekend such as Hairspray playing at UNM's Popejoy Hall, I'd like to suggest some soaking up of nature.

HawkWatch International's HawkTALK series continues Saturday at the San Pedro Library with a program on falcons.

The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a lecture. A field trip to the HawkWatch site at the southern end of the Sandia Mountains is from noon to 3 p.m.
As field trip space is limited, pre-registration is required. Call 255-7622 to reserve your spot.

This is prime viewing time for migratory raptors, and the temperatures this weekend are expected to climb into the 70s, so get out there.
