Sierra County woman tells police she was struck by a flying plastic apple in a Las Cruces pool.

7/1/08 UPDATE: The woman who told Las Cruces police that her recent breast implant surgery was damaged by a plastic apple thrown by someone in a motel swimming pool on June 24 declined a trip to the hospital after the incident because she said a plastic surgeon would not be there, the Albuquerque Journal's Rene Romo reported this morning.

The woman told police she had undergone breast augmentation surgery about a month before the incident and that getting struck by the plastic fruit had affected the surgical results, the Journal reported.

A female police photographer took photos of the woman's injury, and a plastic apple was taken into evidence, according to the police report.

But the Journal was unable to reach the woman for comment on Monday, because the Truth or Consequences address she gave Las Cruces police was found not to exist, and there was no telephone listing for her.

A Sierra County woman told Las Cruces police that her recent breast implant was ruined when someone threw a piece of plastic fruit at her in a motel swimming pool, the Las Cruces Sun-News is reporting.

The woman told police that she was in the pool at La Quinta Inn on June 24 when she was struck on the chest, apparently by a plastic apple, the Sun-News reported.

According to a police report, the woman said she was in the pool with several individuals who were throwing pieces of plastic fruit they had taken from the hotel, the paper said.

"I don't care what you do. I just can't get hit," the woman told the others in the pool, according to the police report.

When police arrived at the pool, the woman told them her right breast was sinking down and to the left as a result of being struck, but she refused medical attention, the Sun-News reported.

The woman also was unable to give police a description of the person or persons who were throwing the plastic fruit, the paper said.
