Occupant of parked vehicle was stuck for 90 minutes after high wind downed power pole.

A driver was trapped inside a parked vehicle in Deming for about 90 minutes Friday after high winds toppled a power pole, causing a wire to fall on the car, the Public Service Company of New Mexico told the Deming Headlight .

PNM workers directed traffic from the area while a crew removed the downed wire, and power was out for an hour and 39 minutes, a PNM spokeswoman told the Headlight.

There was no word on the identity of the trapped driver or any possible injuries, but the Headlight provided a number of safety tips to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.
