Receptionist facing 90 counts of stealing from her employer since June 2007.

Audra Armendarez, 35, entered not-guilty pleas to 90 counts of embezzlement under $250 in Carlsbad Magistrate Court this week and was released on an unsecured appearance bond of $50,000, the Carlsbad Current-Argus reported.

Armendarez worked as a receptionist for Industrial Health Services in Carlsbad, where, according to a criminal complaint, office manager Renee Valliere discovered discrepancies in cash receipts for which Armendarez was responsible, the Current-Argus said.

Valliere last month found a total of 121 occasions where cash was collected but not deposited for a total of $6,896.85, and 90 of those incidents occurred between July 3, 2007 and June 11, 2008, the complaint said.

Armendarez was scheduled for a court appearance on Aug. 14, the Current-Argus reported.
