Denver Post gives Big Bill a presidential boost.

On the very day Gov. Bill Richardson appeared on CBS's "Face the Nation" to give part-time New Mexico resident Donald Rumsfeld a thumbs-down as Secretary of Defense (see Journal story here), the Denver Post wrote a glowing appreciation of the larger-than-life governor of Colorado's southern neighbor, little ol' New Mexico.

"With the exception of Sen. John McCain of Arizona, Richardson, 58, may be the West's biggest political star," the Post reported in its Sunday editions. "He is bright, accomplished, hot-tempered and charming -- as famous for his political skill as for his love of lavish dinners and inch-thick Cuban cigars."
