Flooded SE Albuquerque school to be back in business Wednesday.

APS officials were still assessing the extent of damage caused by a valve failure over the weekend that put parts of the basement of Highland High School's main building under as much as 3 1/2 feet of water, knocking out power and phone service to the campus.

Classes were canceled Monday and Tuesday for an estimated 1,650 students, but outdoor after-school activities went on as scheduled, according to APS spokeswoman Lauran Morrison.
