Police still saying same person responsible for putting bodies on the mesa; no suspects identified

Investigators have found the remains of three more bodies on the far West Mesa during the past few days -- including one this morning -- bringing the total number of bodies to six, Police Chief Ray Schultz tells ABQJournal.com.

Satellite mapping and heavy earth-moving equipment have aided police as they've combed a 100-square-acre area near 118th and Dennis Chavez SW during the past two weeks, Schultz said.

The remains found this morning were a complete skeleton, he said. It's too early to say how any of the six was killed, and identifying at least four of the sets of remains has been difficult because of the age and condition of the bones.

Police believe the same person was responsible for putting the remains of all six people on the mesa.
