Man identified as Donald Hovland, who was charged with fatally shooting his business partner Tuesday

Sheriff's deputies are now saying that the body found near Coors and Montano was Donald Hovland, and believe that after allegedly shooting business partner Barron Freeman, Hovland may have driven back to his home near Taylor Ranch and Montano, walked the mile or so to the bosque and killed himself. His death is being investigated as a suicide, although that will not be confirmed until the Office of the Medical Investigator completes an autopsy.

A handgun was found near Hovland's body, and he was found with a single gunshot wound to the head, said Bernalillo County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Kmatz. More on the story from the Sunday Journal.

Pick up a copy of tomorrow's Journal for more on this story.
