Smoke seen near the site of last year's Trigo fire Smoke was seen late tonight in the Manzano Mountains, said Mountainair Ranger District spokeswoman Arlene Perea. Details are limited because of the dark, but Perea said crews will be heading toward the smoke at first light tomorrow. Tankers and helicopters are standing by, and hotshot crews are set to arrive in the morning. The smoke is near the site of last summer's Trigo Fire, and Perea said one possible strategy may be to drive the fire toward the areas already burned out by Trigo. Check back here for more on this developing story.
