Deputy was targeted for revenge A member of the Aryan Brotherhood convicted at trial of conspiracy to murder a sheriff's deputy and conspiracy to sell methamphetamine was sentenced today to 11 years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge William "Chip" Johnson sentenced Samuel Zachary Arrington to 132 months and said he would recommend a federal prison in Louisiana. Arrington and Robert Guyton Cook, both ranked members or officers of the AB, were convicted in a jury trial in federal court last October of two charges each. The jury hung on charges against a third defendant, James Curtis Thompson, one of the AB's top five generals. Otero County Sheriff's Deputy Billy Anders was targeted by the AB for revenge because he'd been involved in the fatal shooting of an AB member in December 2004.
