Police say 52-year-old Joan Castillo was killed

Police have identified a woman killed Friday in a two-car collision at University and Gibson as 52-year-old Joan Castillo.  According to police, Castillo's husband was making a left turn onto University from Gibson when the vehicle was struck by a westbound vehicle. Castillo died at the scene. Police said alcohol was not a factor but they are looking into whether speed played a part in the crash. Police said the investigation will be turned over to the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office.
