A man wanted in connection with a shooting Saturday night in Southeast Albuquerque that sent two men to the hospital turned himself in to police on Monday.

Ronald “Rico” Davis, 36, of Albuquerque, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence, according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint says:
Albuquerque police responded to Central and Altez NE about 6 p.m. Saturday and found a man in his 20s, who had been shot, lying on the ground. He was later taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
Another man in the Volvo, who was bleeding, fled the scene on foot, witnesses told police. He was later located at Anna Kaseman Hospital and transferred to UNM Hospital.
Both men remained in critical condition on Monday, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.
A witness, who was eating at a restaurant across the street from the shooting, gave police a description of the shooter. He said the man approached the car heading south on Altez and fired about four shots at it.
When the car stopped, the shooter shot at it four to six more times and then fled on foot.
Through witness interviews police determined that the shooting was an ongoing feud between one of the Volvo’s occupants and the shooter.
On Sunday, a person previously interviewed by police provided the name of the shooter and his address. The address is a few blocks away from where the shooting occurred.
Police found a Toyota Camry parked at the address. Its license plate information listed Davis as the owner. Police attempted to speak with Davis, but no one answered the door at his apartment.
Police spoke with a man who said he spoke with Davis several times on Saturday. The man gave police a description of Davis and what he was wearing that day, which matched the description of the shooter given to police by the witness who was eating across the street at the time of the shooting.
On Monday, police received a call that Davis was turning himself in and he was questioned by Albuquerque police.
He told police he had gone to a bar in the 9000 block of Central to use the telephone twice and was confronted by a man named “John John.” Davis said he left the bar to avoid a fight and later called the bar to check if “John John” was still there.
He was told “John John” was no longer there and returned to the bar. Davis said while walking along Altez, a Volvo stopped in the middle of the street and a passenger got out with a revolver in his hand.
Davis said he took out a 9mm handgun and began to shoot at the passenger. He said the driver of the Volvo then fled striking a fire hydrant and fence.
Davis said he unloaded the 30-round magazine in his handgun and fled on foot to his apartment. A friend later picked him up and Davis said he threw the gun and the magazines into the Rio Grande.

Davis was arrested and being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center on Monday on a $100,000 cash only bond.
