Man gets probation for possessing child porn
Richard Golsch, 30, was sentenced Friday by a state District Judge to five years probation on possession of child pornography charges. As part of a plea agreement, Golsch pleaded no contest in September to 11 counts of possession of child pornography.
Each count is a fourth-degree felony and each holds up to 18 months behind bars, according to a news release from the Attorney General's Office. He will be sentenced at a later date. Golsch spent 11 months in jail prior to his September plea hearing. He was initially indicted by a Bernalillo County grand jury on 35 counts of sexual exploitation of children (possession), according to the news release. A joint effort by the Attorney General's Office, the statewide Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Albuquerque Police Department led to the indictment, according to the news release. Further information about the case was not provided in the news release. A call made by the Journal to an Attorney General spokesperson seeking further comment was not returned Friday.
