Man Was Found Monday Near Second and Delamar NW

Albuquerque police have identified the man found Monday afternoon laying unconscious along a ditch bank as Manuel Gutierrez, APD spokeswoman Nadine Hamby tells ABQJournal.com.

It's unclear whether the man was the victim of a homicide or whether he shot himself, Hamby says.

Gutierrez remains in critical condition at University of New Mexico Hospital at this hour, she said.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is calling Gutierrez a suspect in a homicide in that county.
