It seems like overnight Albuquerque police officer Trish Hoffman officer went from the department's cover girl to obscurity.

As public information officer, Hoffman had been the face of APD for four years. She had been quoted in the Journal more than 300 times. In 2005, she received national attention after runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks landed in Albuquerque.

During that investigation, Hoffman appeared on several national media outlets and her likeness was depicted on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

Hoffman has also appeared on numerous billboards helping APD to recruit new officers.

A few years ago she was even names as on of Albuquerque's "hottest singles" by Albuquerque the magazine. (Sorry guys! She is married now. And he too is a cop and has a gun.)

In November she was promoted to sergeant. Since then she has remained in the department's internal affairs division. A position that doesn't exactly allow officers to talk publicly.

But Hoffman is still in the thick of things.  She had been in the middle of some very high profile cases. Only this time she is not releasing information she is gathering information.

Hoffman had no comment.
